PALAZZO SAN GOTTARDO LAKE COMO, A RADISSON COLLECTION HOTEL

The historic Hotel San Gottardo in Como has recently reopened as Palazzo San Gottardo Lake Como, A Radisson Collection Hotel, following an extensive restoration. Situated between Piazza Cavour and Piazza Volta—just steps from the lake and the historic center—the building retains the charm of the original palazzo inaugurated in 1926, reinterpreted with a contemporary touch. The property features 70 rooms and suites, a spa with a wellness area, high-quality restaurants, and a rooftop terrace offering panoramic views of Lake Como, positioning itself as a new landmark for luxury hospitality in the city.
For this project, Sebino Chiusure produced various types of doors designed to blend harmoniously with the hotel’s architectural style while meeting requirements for safety, acoustic comfort, and aesthetics.
The supply includes EI 30 and EI 60 fire-rated doors—both offering 43 dB sound insulation—equipped with concealed hinges and a grey lacquer finish. The door leaves are enhanced by applied panels, crafted on one or both sides to create a pattern of two or, in some cases, four recessed panels per leaf. The system is completed by custom-milled casings (120 × 25 mm section) that perfectly match the door design.
The guest rooms feature EI 30, 43 dB acoustic-rated doors characterized by applied panels on the “push” side only, forming two recessed panels per leaf. The finish features grey lacquer on the push side and a soft green lacquer on the pull side, creating a refined interplay of colors that enhances the interiors.
